Paragon Champions Shift from Quarterly Software Releases to Continuous Software Delivery

Paragon Application Systems, an independent, global ePayment testing solution provider, delivers payment system testing solutions to 600 customers in 90 countries. Based on a review of this global market, Paragon concludes that cards payment channels are being left behind by other banking channels as they struggle to deliver business change using 20th Century application life cycles. As an enthusiastic adopter of the Agile Manifesto, Paragon believes the quarterly release cycle is obsolete.

Banks and processors will derive huge benefits from the adoption of Continuous Delivery techniques to build 21st Century life cycles that deliver change rapidly and safely for the benefit of consumers. This conclusion has led Paragon to re-engineer its market leading product portfolio to meet the needs of the Continuous Delivery paradigm, focusing on Continuous Integration Testing which provides ongoing automated testing during development. The lead product in this portfolio is Paragon’s cloud-based ePayment testing solution, Web FASTest, which organizations are using as part of a Continuous Delivery framework to quickly detect errors and speed the release cycle.

As part of this new program, Paragon has engaged Jim Tomaney. Jim has more than 25 years of experience delivering, marketing and selling enterprise payments solutions and services for global ATM and transaction processing industries. His career spans companies including ACI Worldwide, Level Four Software, Wincor Nixdorf and Barclays Bank. Paragon believes that the benefits of advanced technology in transaction processing systems are only fully realized when outdated approaches to managing software products and end-to-end applications are addressed. Jim has 10 years of experience refreshing system and product life cycles to unlock those technology benefits. Jim’s experience will help Paragon as it seeks to deploy Continuous Delivery solutions for the benefit of its clients in EMEA and globally.

Jim will deliver a presentation, 21st Century Solutions with 20th Century Life Cycles at the Payments Knowledge Forum, formerly known as EBUG, on September 30th in London. Paragon is a Silver Sponsor of the Payments Knowledge Forum and will be exhibiting at the event.

“Paragon has a huge base of satisfied customers around the world that is testament to the quality of its solutions and the people that produce them,” says Jim Tomaney. “This rock solid technology base combined with Paragon’s commitment to the Agile Manifesto positions Paragon as the obvious choice for organizations that want to revolutionize their payment systems life cycles.”

“I’m very excited that Jim has decided to work with Paragon,” says Jim Perry, CEO of Paragon. “Jim’s technical and business experience combined with his in-depth understanding of testing in agile development environments will allow us to accelerate our product strategy. Jim is a very enthusiastic individual and a fantastic communicator. He will play a vital role in promoting the Continuous Delivery testing strategy.”
