Zend to Present Winning Recipe for Deploying PHP Apps at ChefConf April 15-17, 2014

PHP Leader to Lead Two Sessions on Successfully Using Chef and Zend Server to Automate Deployment of PHP Applications

CUPERTINO, Calif., April 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Zend, the PHP Company, announced today that it will present a hands-on workshop to help participants implement best practices for automatically deploying PHP applications at ChefConf, April 15-17, 2014 in San Francisco.  Automation of infrastructure provisioning is an integral part of Zend's focus on Continuous Delivery, which enables companies to develop, release and iterate applications quickly, resulting in accelerated ROI.

Zend previously announced its Blueprint for Continuous Delivery, which outlines best practices for bringing applications rapidly from code to production. The blueprint, built on the Zend Server platform, integrates all necessary processes – from Continuous Integration to automating a company's infrastructure and application release process – and helps create a foundation of collaboration between the development and operations teams.

Zend's Blueprint for Continuous Delivery includes a pattern for infrastructure automation with Chef, an automation platform that models IT infrastructure and application delivery as code. The Zend Pattern, which maintains a consistent highly available environment for application deployment and operation, is presented as a Chef cookbook that automates the installation, bootstrapping and cluster management of PHP applications leveraging Zend Server.

The Zend Blueprint for Continuous Delivery and information on the Chef Recipe can be found at

Zend's presentations at ChefConf will cover automatically deploying PHP applications from development into staging and production environments, setting up a PHP development environment, and creating a reusable wrapper Cookbook for later use.
