WANdisco Announces Update for uberSVN 'Chimney House'

WANdisco Updates Award-Winning ALM Platform and Launches Latest Release Channel for Early Adopters

SAN RAMON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/02/12 -- WANdisco (AIM: WAND) (LSE: WAND) a leading provider of Apache Subversion-based software and services for the enterprise, and a corporate contributor to the Subversion project, has announced an update for uberSVN's 'Chimney House' release.

uberSVN is the award-winning, open ALM platform for Apache Subversion. Easy to install and update, uberSVN features social coding capabilities and an integrated app store. The 'uberAPPS' store includes apps such as the Jenkins continuous integration system, uberSVN Access Control, and consultancy and health check services, with more apps planned for the future (including Review Board, Assembla and SmartSVN).

uberSVN 'Chimney House' Release 3 features many improvements and enhanced functionality for uberSVN's ever-growing community of users. These include:

  • Further improvements to the way uberSVN handles LDAP and LDAPS.
  • Improvements to uberSVN APIs and internal development of the uberSVN SDK (public release coming soon!)
  • New manageAPPS page allows you to see metadata attached to your APP license, such as expiry date, number of named users, and more.
  • The latest Apache Subversion 1.7.5 binaries set to active by default.
  • A list of bug fixes, including some fixes and alignment of the uberSVN Access Control Team Leader and uberSVN Delegated Team Admin (where uberSVN Access Control is active)

This release also allows uberSVN users to see at-a-glance which Release Channel they are a part of, with the launch of uberSVN's new Latest Release Channel. This gives users the opportunity to test new features and see how they fit into the ALM environment at least a few weeks before the update is made generally available.

"We really appreciated all of your support during uberSVN's beta phase -- especially your feedback and suggestions," said Rob Budas, Vice President of Product Management, WANdisco. "Although uberSVN is now out of beta, we want to keep in close contact with the community. The Latest Release Channel will help us get early adopter feedback on what we're doing right, and what can be made even better."

More information about what's new and noteworthy in this latest release of uberSVN 'Chimney House' Release 3 is available at the Release Notes.
