MFA Selects Valtech's Rural Shoring Delivery Model; High Value Domestic Application Development Solution

MFA Selects Valtech's Rural Shoring Delivery Model; High Value Domestic Application Development Solution

DALLAS, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Valtech, a global provider of agile software development, application outsourcing and advanced technology skill development, today announced the signature of an agreement with MFA Incorporated, a regional farm supply and marketing cooperative serving 45,000 active members in Missouri and adjacent states. Valtech will be helping to develop robust and scalable web-based products that support MFA's agricultural programs. Valtech will engage with MFA, focused on adopting and integrating agile development practices and techniques, utilizing Valtech's innovative Rural Shoring(TM) delivery model.

Valtech has pioneered an alternative domestic outsourcing model that combines the most senior talent in the industry with the best and brightest out of Texas A & M University -- the result is an extraordinary blend of talent at an attractive blended rate. In addition, Valtech's Rural Shoring approach uses agile techniques and best-practices that are based on a combination of the Unified Process (UP) and the agile family of methodologies including SCRUM, XP, Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration.

"I am extremely excited to be partnering with MFA on such a critical application for both MFA and the beef industry in general," stated Barry Rogers, SVP & General Manager, Valtech, Professional Services. "This project is an ideal project for our Rural Shoring model due to the criticality of short production timelines combined with the need to have close customer involvement to ensure the system will meet end user requirements."

"The combination of Valtech's partnership with JBoss and their experience with the Agile process, convinced us at MFA that this was the forward thinking partner we needed. This agreement underscores commitment by both organizations to the agile process, collaborative product development, and advanced technology skills transfer. We recognize the challenge in implementing these processes in MFA's application development organization and welcome the help of a proven partner," said Scot Mewbuorn, Director of IT Services for MFA.
