ETI Group Selects Electric Cloud Software for Infrastructure of Next-Generation Processes

ElectricCommander(R) and ElectricAccelerator(R) Create New Software Production Efficiencies for a Software-Centric Product Company

PARIS, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuous Integration and Testing Conference -- Electric Cloud(R), the leading provider of software production management (SPM) solutions announced today at CITCON Europe 2009 that ETI Group, a leading provider of advanced diagnostic and data analysis products to law enforcement agencies and telecommunication providers, has deployed ElectricCommander(R) and ElectricAccelerator(R) as its new standard infrastructure to create faster, higher-quality software builds.

A worldwide conglomerate of companies, ETI Group has won international acclaim through its ability to deliver software-based products for data-crime investigations and for data-communication systems troubleshooting. Recently, IT professionals at ETI Group saw an opportunity to improve company software production processes for its team of 100 European developers by replacing a homegrown system with a commercial-grade software production management solution. "We realized that our existing build processes were maxed out and would not keep pace with increasingly complex software requirements and shorter production schedules," said a member of the Methods and Tools team at ETI Group.

Consequently, the Methods and Tools team conducted a review of build solutions, including CruiseControl, which is open source. After evaluating the options, the team chose a combination of ElectricCommander and ElectricAccelerator. "Not only did Electric Cloud's offering win on the basis of price, solution flexibility and back-end capabilities," added the Method and Tools team member, "but there is simply no other product on the market like ElectricAccelerator, which instantly delivered a 50% improvement on our build times."

Today, ETI Group has fully deployed the Electric Cloud infrastructure at their headquarters and is looking into expanding it to satellite locations as well. ElectricAccelerator allows developers to complete multiple builds per day and approximately 500 builds per week. Meanwhile, ElectricCommander manages the company's entire build-and-release process, which allows developers to focus much less on software production maintenance, and devote more time to tasks supporting the company's core competency - delivering outstanding software to its worldwide client base.
